Angling Times - Magic spray really does work
August 29, 2006 Angling Times

Angling Times readers testing Fool-a-Fish-the bait spray that makes bait glow underwater-have found that it outfishes their usual baits on local waters. Recently introduced from the U.S., the liquid coats hookbaits with titanium oxide-most commonly used in sun blocks and creams-making them reflect UV light so they glow underwater and become easier for fish to find.
Having asked 30 lucky readers to test Fool-a-Fish-treated hookbaits alongside normal ones , most found that the revolutionary new additive seemed to give them an edge. "Over the last month, I've used the spray on a number of different venues and baits and i think that it really does work for carp!" said Jason Allen, from Ongar in Essex. Jason targeted local fishery John's Lake to catch a previously unknown 22lb mirror carp on a large bunch of maggots treated with Fool-a-Fish. He found that his sprayed baits consistently out-fished his untreated ones.
Another fan of the product is Julie Young, who used it on the River Kennet to catch barbel weighing 9lb 1oz and 8lb 4oz, as well as chub to 4lb 1oz. Fleet, Hants-based Julie said:"My husband fished with untreated baits and i definately got more interest in the form of bites and knocks than he did."
